Christopher Iglehart

I have been an avid, lifelong reader for as far back as I can remember. There’s nothing like getting lost in a great story and spending time with amazing, made-up individuals. One day I was pondering the sheer breadth of stories available in this day and age, and how streamlined the process of creating these stories has gotten. And I thought to myself, ‘How hard can it be to write a book myself?’ Well, the answer was that it is a lot harder than I expected, but I also enjoyed it and immediately started on another novel. Admittedly, it took a long time, but I was thrilled to hold a story in my hands that I not only created but was willing to share with others, which might be even harder than the actual writing of the novel. I don’t have a degree in writing or a strong understanding of the principles of editing, and I don’t actually know the difference in the types of verb forms or when to use commas. I haven’t read The Elements of Style, not even the Cliff’s Notes version, but I do enjoy telling stories, if you can forgive the occasional misplaced adverb. I live in Texas, where it’s too hot to do much outside for large swaths of the year, making writing a good hobby to have. When I’m not helping kids or chasing pets, anyway.
